Refractory Panels

Refractory Panels serve two main purposes:

  1. Refractory panels reflect heat, generated from the fire, back into the room.
  2. Refractory panels keep heat from penetrating into the firebox causing damage to the firebox.

Most factory built fireplace manufacturers require replacement of refractory panels when a dime can be inserted into the crack or when the surface of the refractory panel has abraded more than ¼” from the original surface. National Chimney manufactures cut to fit refractory panels in 5 different sizes and brick patterns. Refractory panels can be easily cut to fit with a diamond blade saw.
